Tell Me A Story Theatre

random image

A chance for wee ones (preK-early elementary) to
hear a favorite story read and acted out! The material may include audience
participation segments or simple audience interaction and will last no longer than 30
minutes—perfect for young wiggly patrons. Cost is $75 for locations within 5 miles of
downtown Greenville. Additional travel fee will apply for more distant locations (+$10 for
20 mile round trip, +$20 for 40 mile round trip, etc).

Traysie Amick, SCCT’s Principal Teaching Artist as well as a well-known Upstate actress
from Café And Then Some, Distracted Globe, Timbre Tales and Lollipops performances,
brings her high energy and child-friendly interpretation of favorite children’s stories to
your kids. A great literacy connection or a fun-tastic ‘treat’ for your students and right in
your own classroom.

Traysie suggests the following titles as particularly good for this format, but she can also
do others (especially if you have one you’ve been using in class, please provide us with the
book one week ahead of the performance).

Not A Box -Antoinette Portis
Bear Snores On -Karma Wilson
Amazing Grace – Mary Hoffman
Knuffle Bunny or Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus- Moe Willems
Where the Wilds Things Are-Maurice Sendak
Green Eggs and Ham-Dr. Seuss

Suitable for Pre-K and Kindergarten Groups
One performance for up to 50 students = $75
2nd Performance on the same day is only $35
