Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a time...get ready! Here comes a modern, funnier version of one of your favorite tales. Meet our smart and independent Princess, a girl named Briar Rose (a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty) and Gryff, her sidekick half-dragon with big dreams. There's Branwen, the friendly witch who tries to outspell evil Modron. And there's a Prince of course – Owain, a regal boy with standard princely attributes, minus the bravery, talent and competence. It's a twist on the story you remember, right through to the happily-ever-after. In between is a magical adventure, complete with troublesome fairies, a Spider King, and a dashing sword fight! Will Briar Rose's parents grant her the freedom she craves? Can Owain manage his fears, do the right thing, and please his father?

Dear Cast,
Welcome & Congratulations on making the SLEEPING BEAUTY cast! My name is Vanessa Weber; I am the Office Manager for South Carolina Children's Theatre and will be your point of contact for Cast Shirt Orders, Bios and general paperwork/questions.
Please remember ORIENTATION/READ THRU is scheduled TUESDAY, MAY 4 from 7:00 pm -9:00 pm. It is very important that ALL cast members and a parent or adult representative (if cast member is under the age of 18) attend. If you noted this date on your Audition form as a conflict, we understand you will NOT be attending or will be coming later.
During Orientation, scripts will be presented to principal cast members. Please be prepared to pay a script fee of $5 to cover cost of printing & paper. Cast Members will also be given the opportunity to place orders for show memorabilia and typically submit their Bios. I would like to ask you to go ahead and be thinking about your Bios and start submitting them to me through email now at vanessa@scchildrenstheatre.org.
Please provide us with some interesting facts about yourself. In 40 words or less you may say anything you wish (in good taste, of course, and subject to editing). Please DO NOT give detailed personal information such as school name. Below is an example of an appropriate Bio.
EXAMPLE: Jenna Towns is thrilled to be in her fifth production at SCCT. A second grader, she loves the performing arts, swimming and playing with her brother, Henry. Jenna is the daughter of Mary Margaret and Joseph Towns. “Hi, Grandma & Grandpa!”
