SCCT announces…SCCT GLEE!random image In response to the wildly popular Fox TV hit GLEE, South Carolina Children’s Theatre will launch their own “show choir,” for interested young people who really love to sing. The goal is to provide a place for kids who like to sing popular music in a fun and hip style to form a strong ensemble and create a tour-able performance troupe to promote the performing arts and the super vocal talents of youth in our area. The launch of SCCT GLEE! will pilot future vocal and dance ensembles to come! The only cost associated with participation is a nominal $25 fee to help offset costume cost. Auditions for 4th-12th graders will be on Directed by SCCT Conservatory Musical Theatre Instructor, Celia Stockton. Please bring a parent to the audition to fill out paperwork. Look your best, be happy, and wear clothing that you can do movement in. Be prepared to sing two songs: Song #2: "Star Spangled Banner" /acapella (no sheet music needed) Junior Glee (aka…J-GLEE TEAM) will be made up of 4th-8th graders and will meet on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm for 12 weeks, February 11-May 6 (skip day April 1). There will be a dress-rehearsal/sharing for parents on April 22. End of semester performance will be as part of Artisphere the weekend of May 7-9—exact time TBA. Senior Glee (aka…SCCT-GLEE) will be made up of 9th-12th graders and will meet on Thursdays from 7:30-8:45pm for 12 weeks, February 11-May 6 (skip day April 1). There will be a dress-rehearsal/sharing for parents on April 22. End of semester performance will be as part of Artisphere the weekend of May 7-9—exact time TBA.
