DANCE ON BROADWAY CAMPrandom image Focus on the movement—especially in the musical theatre genre. A great class for students who have basic dance experience but don’t want to be in a formal recital. Training hones dance skills needed specifically for musical theatre numbers. The class will focus on what to do when asked to dance—how to “sell” a dance performance. Music theatre dance, ballet and jazz terminology will be taught as well as how to dance “in character” will help students feel more comfortable with physical expression. Class always begins with a physical warm-up, which includes stretching, isolations and physical conditioning. Combinations include musical theatre, jazz and some ballet technique. Dance terminology is used throughout the class. Attire is stretchy pants, t-shirts (nothing baggy please, the instructor needs to be able to see the line of the body) and basic jazz shoes. The last part of the final class will include a “sharing” for friends and family. Class enrollment – 20 maximum, 12 minimum
