AUDITION PREP CAMPrandom image n audition is much like a job interview. It is a chance for you to show your performance strengths and your personality. It is a mini-performance and should always be fun, not frightening. It helps to think of it as a small performance that could well lead to a larger and longer one. For any show, auditionees might be asked to: read selections from the script ("sides"), bring in a prepared monologue or song, do an interview or improv, learn choreography, do a “cold-reading” (reading material that is completely unfamiliar) or many other options pending on show/casting needs. By taking this camp, students will be able to prepare for a variety of audition settings by finding appropriate material and honing skills. Students WILL be expected to memorize a monologue and song during the course of the week. Learn how to do your best in cold-readings, prepared monologues, musical theatre and interview auditions. Get ahead of the game and get yourself ready for any audition in the coming year.
Class enrollment – 20 maximum, 6 minimum
