Daytime Homeschool-PLAYCRAFT—Writing, Designing, Directing and Actingrandom image Explore the basic principles of acting and the theatre through exercises that encompass the ideas of stage directions, articulation, and movement. Students will use their imaginations to develop characters and creative writing skills to create stories and scripts. Take an in depth look at the ensemble of creative and technical positions needed in the development of a production from concept to staging. Students will be asked to work together on a final production show for their parents, which will involve lighting, costume, property, sound, and technical designs. They will also act, direct, and manage the rehearsal process. All students will engage in both sides of the production process, giving them a fuller understanding of the ins and outs of a stage show. Some homework is required. The last part of the final class will include a “sharing” for friends and families.
